Can anyone tell me what military proof marks and where they would be located on a Pre WWII Winchester bolt action .22 trainer.

I believe a model 69A 0 -
Pre-WWII, the US military did not acquire bolt-action .22 training rifles - though Winchester and Savage tried to sell them some.
Instead, they made their own - the Springfield Models 1922, 1922M1, and 1922 M2.0 -
Post-war, most commercial guns bought for sporting loan by US military recreational facilities were stamped with USP or US PROPERTY, plus an ordnance bomb.
