TC Hawken Tang Sight

I purchased a 50 cal TC Hawken in 1975 and in addition I got the TC tang peep sight. It was an extra package. I sold the gun in 1983 (when WA St required hunters to choose only One type gun/bow) so I'm not sure if they are the same as presently being produced.

The tang mounted peep sight has always been an addition to the Hawken, as far as I know. I have a Lyman on my 50 cal Hawken, and a TC pep sight on my 54 caliber. They are a great improvement over the original rear sights,

Setting this sight right next to the Hawken sight you'll see many comparisons which made me wonder if it was an earlier version. But looking thru Stroebels book, looked at Win. 82A sight for the Model 52. The differences being that the adjustable "T" with the peep is upsidedown and has a 7/8" disc instead, just like the TC. And it's mounted on a two screw pivoting mounting base with 1 7/32" hole centers. On the right side of the upper it's adjustable to 300yrds too, just like the 82A.

Since I can't figure out the 12 step ordeal to list a pic of it, please look at listing 503593162 if you can. It's the sight on the far right. Looking at it close up like I have, it looks very professionally made. And the mounting hole centers are 1 5/32", not 1 7/32".

I do believe they came as a set, in conjunction with a globe style front sight, with interchangeable discs'.

If you can find the correct one, it is bound to be pricey.

Does this sight have a model number? Do you know which rifle it's used on since it screws on instead of using a dovetail? The sight is flat on the bottom, not radius. Which globe front sight?
