What is the better made AR?
is the Ruger ar 15 or the DMPS AR the better gun? (function, warranty etc) I haven't picked up an AR type rifle since I left VN. There I had a GM ar 15 I had nothing against the rifle I just had no use for one when I cam home. I'm thinking of buying one now, things and people have changed in 44 years. thanks

Go to Palmetto State Armory and look at their M4 light stainless barreled AR or look at their uppers and lowers and configure one for yourself. 0 -
what ever brand that fits your budget will work well for you 0 -
Is the Ruger your are comparing a piston or DI?
That may introduce another set of questions.0 -
I like the DPMS, and just as well, or better, Rock River Arms.
This is a subject that has came up several times. If you use the search and type in "Best AR 15", this will come up.0 -
DPMS also known as Panther Arms makes great utility grade AR uppers and lowers. I have zero experience with the Ruger AR, but every Ruger I have owned or shot has been top quality, so you probably will do well with either.
Another brand to look at is Del-Ton. They make excellent(affordable) AR uppers and lowers. If you are willing to spend just a little more, Anderson Arms is another quality manufacturer of AR's.
Most of the package AR's I have seen have mediocre triggers at best. A new trigger group with adjustable pull will improve accuracy considerably over the standard trigger.
Good luck with whatever you decide. Don0 -
I'd call em about equal. If you had to nail me down I'd probably grab the Ruger over the DPMS.
You might look into Wyndham - they offer all the good stuff:
Chrome lined barrel / chamber.
Forward Assist
etc.
At a reasonable price.
Wyndham is owned by the old Bushmaster people.
All that being said - I'd jump on this $800 Colt 6920 from CDNN if I was in the market right now. Best deal around.
