AR 15 STOCK QUESTION
I found a AR stock with the buffer tube and spring while digging thru my garage. It measures about 10 1/8 inches long without the butt plate. Weren't the A1 stocks shorter than the A2 stocks? Their are no markings on the stock. Has a butt plate that opens for a little storage space. Please tell me what i have here. Thank you. The butt plate is metal.

The A1 stocks were 1" shorter than the A2 stock. Early A1's did not have a trap door later ones did. The A2 uses a 1" spacer on the end of the buffer tube. 0 -
Also the A-1 stock had a rounded smooth butt plate. 
The A-2 is flat and checkered.0
