any advantage either of these two AR's
i posted another thread regarding getting an AR platform. got good feedback. and now i'm looking at either of these two:
http://www.fedarm.com/product/ar-15-mil-spec-forged-16-rail/
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/11235/category/6/
for an ar platform, for homedef use, not combat or range competition, are these about the same or is the psa a bit better? there is a slight cost diff, is why i'm asking.

I know nothing about "FedArms" but have some experience with PSA. The PSA includes the front sight tower, rear BUIS, a magazine, and the buffer tube & stock are the mil-spec diameter. These features are worth maybe $50 retail.
Honestly, I think there are many options that fill your wish list at a lower cost. In fact, PSA probably has a very similar carbine offered as a separate upper/lower BLEM for around $450(maybe less).0 -

i'll keep this in mind. didn't realize it was going to be so difficult to make my mind up. the cost savings with the upper/lower vs built.

You may also want to check out SOTA Arms. Along with they above they make economical, serviceable AR products.0 -
I favor a chrome lined barrel for this kind of rifle. 0 -
I recently bought a PSA upper for $279 on sale with free shipping. I mated it to a PSA lower I got on sale several months ago for $135 plus about $45 shipping and transfer fee. Looks great, priced right, shoots about 2 inches. I think I could have shot it about an inch or less before I had my stroke. 0
