rem 700 synthetic stock
hello;
have Remington model 700 with a full size synthetic stock. this rifle will be passed on to grand-daughter.
purchased a Remington synthetic youth, long action stock from gunparts.com. assumed the recoil pad from the full size synthetic stock would fit the youth model, it does not.
call Remington customer service and asked which recoil I needed to fit a youth, long action, synthetic stock. the Remington rep had no idea which recoil pad would fit the synthetic youth rifle stock. customer rep at gunparts.com could not help.
anyone have any idea what recoil pad will fit the Remington synthetic youth stock. the only thing certain a stepped recoil pad will not fit and the holes to anchor recoil pad are 3 1/4" apart.

Can't help with Remington part number, but can recommend limbsaver grind to fit recoil pads. http://www.limbsaver.com/product/grind-to-fit-recoil-pad/ 0 -
Limbsaver 'Grind-to-Fit' are not for the faint of heart or the inexperienced. Great product which is difficult to grind due to the type of material.
Call Brownell's tech staff and get their recommendation. I think they have pre-fits for most of the common rifles.
