Don't mean to be funny! Winchester didn't make any handguns, except some experimentals back in the 19th Century.

If you are referencing Winchester rifles, cut down into handguns? They are contraband, and in violation of federal gun laws. To be caught with them, will get you 10 years in the slammer. With sugar bugger bubba, as a cellmate.

The pistol with serial number K428581 would, PERHAPS? Be a Smith & Wesson K-22 target pistol. Made in 1960, similar in appearance to this one?

I know of no Winchester to ever have a serial number that started with a "K".

As stated, no Winchester pistols released to the public.

I think they did make three or four of them, unless my memory is playing tricks on me. And, I'm almost positive that I have seen at least two or three of them come up for auction in the past fifteen to twenty years.

The only Winchester? .22 pistol. I was able to find by a net search.

Very few known. Extremely rare. Based on a early single shot rifle. Winchester made in the first years of the 20th Century. Few that have turned up, seemed to have been located in New Zealand and Australia. Not positive that the were actually made by Winchester, as all have been different?

Yes they were shaped like that but of a standard design and a lighter color wood and made by Winchester as I recall.
