I have a rifle stock to refinish
It has black plastic cap on the then end of forearm and on the pistol grip, How do I refinish them?? thank you

Remove the pistol grip cap and mask off the forend tip. Refinish the wood only as usual. Plastic can be polished out if necessary. 0 -
Remove them if you can. If not practical I would sand the stock, finishing in the 320 range going over the plastic. Then polish the plastic to your desire. Mask to protect the plastic from the stock finish especially if it has solvents/dryers/catalysts. 0 -
Going to the trouble of refinishing, I would replace the plastic with contrasting wood. 0 -
Don't refinish them. Apply your hand rubbed finish slightly on to the plastic, then wipe off the plastic with a lint free rag while the finish is still wet.
Polish the plastic if you want it glossy.0
