Auto 5 Light 12
Just bought the subject 2G/1962 dated.
I know the choke codes but can find NONE on the barrel, understand should be on the left breech end of the barrel, magnums on the right.
The only * I can find is on the right side saying *Special Steel 12 Gauge Shells 2 3/4 length.
Is that the Full Choke designation, placed there for some reason?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The * would be for full choke. 0 -
Try the old standby. If a new dime will not go into the barrel it is a full choke. 0 -
Put it on paper at 40 yards with a 30" circle using your loads and see what the % actually is. 0 -
When steel shot became mandatory. Lot of the earlier full choke guns, were honed out to larger dimensions. I bought a very nice Model 12, a number of years ago. That had been honed from full, to improved cylinder.
Duckhunter's dime trick will give a real fast indication, if the barrel is still full choke.0 -
Thanks for the help guys.
Any info on why it shows up on the right side? Several references were very specific about the * being on the left rear, except for Magnums.
Just curiosity/future purchases.0 -
Could be non original barrel to the receiver 0
