The "L" is actually a "1" and it was manufactured in 1942. I know it looks like an "L" but it's a well-known stamping anomaly.

"Wonderful condition" is hard to categorize. Can you post pictures of it?

You're welcome. If you can post pictures and give us the exact serial number, our resident Winchester expert, Bert H., can give you all the info you need and more.

This thread shows you how to post pics: http://forums.GunBroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=259294

Your picture size is too big, you need to re-size. From what I can see, you 94 has had the stock refinished. Better, well lit, or better yet naturally lit pictures are the best. Dealing with value on vintage Winchester rifles requires clear, close detailed pictures.
We can't evaluate what we can't see.

The serial number identifies it as a February 1942 production Carbine.

It does not appear to me that the stocks have been refinished, as they are still proud of the steel, and the right color. The hole on the bottom of the forend stock was most likely for an aftermarket sling eye. Overall it appears to be in Very Good condition (except for the hole in the stock).

$600 would be a fair price to pay her for it.
