Almost 600 High Standard Citation listed in the completed auctions. Not a lot sold in the $500 neighborhood. Tons of no bids.

I have an HD-Military from my uncle. It shoots better than my mark ii bull barrel.

The older, factory original High Standard target pistols. Have appreciated in value greatly.

Without quality photos, it's not possible to give a definitive price. But if it factory original, in at least VG condition? And the magazines are also original High Standards? $450 would be a very fair price, IMHO.

I think there is more than one way to look at this.

If you check the completed auctions from your list (not just the listed auctions), and sort by actual bids, there are about 30 pistols that people have actually bid on.

The winning bids of those auction range from a low of about $500 up to $850. There are a few listing with bids in the $400 range, but those are all from the same lister listing the same "reserve" gun again and again, with nobody hitting his reserve (which has to be above $430).

I didn't do the actual math, but a quick "by eye" look at the real completed auctions shows a median for these at about $600, I'd say.

Now, this is a bit of a biased selection, because its the better guns that attract the most bids, I think.

With respect to value of any individual gun, that's highly dependent on the condition of the gun in question, the exact model/date of manufacture, associated accessories, etc. Original factory box, and mags add a lot. Earlier Hamden made guns are worth more. I think guns without that atrocious rear sight elevation bridge thing are worth more too (they certainly are to me!), etc.

But almost sight unseen, I'd say pretty much ANY 7.5" fluted original CT made High Standard Citation in good or better condition is going to be worth $450. I'd actually be pretty pleased if I could pick up a good one for only that price (heck, I'd almost bid that sight unseen if I trusted the seller), and even a little more is still probably fair.

    Here's a pic of mine from ten years ago(and that's a legit 50 ft one hand group) I wouldn't sell this for $450. . .no way. [;)]

Too bad you don't have th "Space Gun" barrel. That alone will get you about $300 and the muzzle brake'll get about $100. Also the block weights with the metal clips are getting crazy prices. Like in the $200 for 1 and 2 ounce sets.

With the fluted barrel and two mags (if original) I'm thinking $400? Might be a bit more if it's not the ones made in East Hamden.

Mags original and it is"at least very good",,I would think that is fair in todays LOW market.
