Perry Rifle 52cal. 1855
I have run across Perry rifle in an local estate. Very interesting. It has a breech block that turns up by lowering a underlever. It then loads a p.cap on a nipple on the roating breech block by a tube that runs through the buttstock (loaded with p.caps) It appears that you can load a pre-made powder/bullett load into the open breech block and fire. Looks as though you could fire many times faster than the powder & ball down the bbl. Anyone have any info. on this sharps looking rifle? thanks

The late Norm Flayderman. In his book on U.S. antique firearms, has a section on them. He estimates that only 1500, were made in the 1850's. Some with authentic U.S. military markings, are valued in the thousands of dollars. Even the commercial sporting Perry's, are worth big bucks. If you could latch on to the one from the estate at a descent price, it would be to your advantage. 0
