MARLIN LC SMITH FIELD GRADE
Just bought a new marlin lc smith made in 1970, gun shoots really nice and on target but i have a question, Ive been noticing that the cocking lever has been getting a little tough to move to the right when opening the barrels, not everytime I open it but about every 4th or 5th time. Could this be a lubrication issue? I havent had the gun apart yet.

40 year old lube might not be doing a good job any more. Q-tip applied thin layer of Rig grease after cleaning, de-burring and cleaning again.
Download the manual. Proper fitting screwdrivers and punches would be high on my list. Apex brand bits ground to fit.

Thank you, this morning i dropped some oil in around the lever and its already working better, Ill have to take the sideplates off soon and take a better look.0
