Sounds like a new spring is needed. Make sure there aren't any burrs causing drag, the hammer isn't too loose on the pin. A real gunsmith could make the spring from music wire or you could try to re-arch the weak spring.

Looks like this might be a good starting point to make one.[;)]

Just a couple of things to look for.

1, Make sure the chamber is clean. sometimes the round will stick and the ctg will move slightly forward when the firing pin strikes and it will not fire.

2, Make sure the spring is clean as a piece of debris will rob the energy as well.

3, Check the firing pin make sure it is not broken, has burrs or just has rounded off a little over the years. It can be streached if needed or replaced.

    4, Excessive head space

5, If it looks like a new spring is needed just buy a new one unless you really like playing with that kind of stuff. You can spend days trying to make a $6.00 spring.

6, Call Al at The Gun Garage. He should have whatever you need. 479-524-2038

Had the Same problem searched, all the usual Gun Parts places. No luck, seems to be a common problem

Dug thru boxes of springs but nothing fit.
Not much room in there only will take 1 to 2 coils.
    Finally had to make one.

Since you have the old spring, IMO it's a safe that Wold Springs has one that will replace it. Measure your spring and give them a call.

It's not a type of spring you can measure. See my link above to see what it looks like.
