custom form fitted silicone plugs, fit deeply onto the ear canal, cost 45 to 60 dollars, had them made at a local gun show,
Check with your local hearing aid suppliers, they may make them also.
And google for them for more info.

To get the right cheek weld, with a flattop AR, most of the time Xtra-Hi rings or a 3/4" riser is needed. The comb height is similar on the P2000.

That said it also impedes hearing protection, when using the improper cheek weld...meaning bearing right down to the cheek bone on the comb.

Just something you might want to try.

    Find some decent ear protection
and get yourself a Kies Master blaster
(Linear compensator). When you set one
off ,instead of the concussion and gases
going every which way. The Linear compensator
"pushes" the concussion ahead and away from
the shooter. Much more comfortable to shoot
and the guy next to you will thank you.
This device doesn't suppress the sound it just
sends the wave a bit further out instead of side to side,
    top to bottom.

I went to an audiologist and had a pair of custom earplugs made. cost $193. They are custom molded and fit to my ear and contain a filter that closes with loud sounds, kind of like the electronic muffs that attenuate sound, but there is nothing electronic in these. When not shooting I can hear pretty normally without removing them.

And way cheaper than the electronic variety that are not custom fit.

Have you looked at Howard Leight products?

    I've had good success.

    Yes, they're my latest failure.
The headband is too small, smaller than 4-5 other electronic muffs I have, resulting in cups barely reaching bottom of the ears and having insufficient pressure there. Forget about wearing them over a cap.
Talking to them is like pizzin in the wind.
They are thinner at bottom but not thin enough for AR or P2000 shooting.

I think TSR1965 is correct,I had the same trouble until I went to a 3/4 riser. You shouldn't have to choke up on the stock to see through your scope. Try it and you should be able to use low profile muffs.
