What was the first year the 94 was factory drilled for a lyman Receiver peep sight?

If it was a factory Saddle Ring Carbine, and you install an original saddle ring, it sure won't hurt the value.

That's what I had planned on doing, original factory saddle rings are sold here on GB'ers.

I don't think there were any factory saddle ring rifles in 1949.

As long as you don't alter the rifle, and it can be put back original, go for it if you like. However, saddle ring carbines usually have bluing damage on the receiver from the saddle ring.

Do not install a saddle ring on a 90% condition 1949 production Carbine... you will instantly take it out of the collector grade class, and reduce the value by a minimum of 50%. Saddle rings were discontinued in 1932 on standard production Carbines.

That's what I was thinking, since your "The Man" I'll accept your advice, your expertise is exactly what I was looking for [;)], I've got a few post 64's that I can play around with [:D]. Thank You [;)]
