What is it approximately worth?

For the most part, a D/U or any other commemorative issued gun doesn't bring any more value than its original counterpart, unless there's a collector looking for that particular gun. IMO, they bring less value to most people since the engraving, or special features of the gun seems to be a little "gawdy" to the everyday shooter. JMHO.

The best way to find out what, it is exactly worth, is to list it on the auction side. Run the auction for 7-10 days, and start it at a penny, with no reserve. At the end of the auction, you will know what today's market will bear, from a national audience.

First, if one is not interested in selling an item, but is just curious about what it is worth, that method isn't an option.

Second, while an auction site like GunBroker can be an effective way to determine value, it does not always give an accurate picture of what something is worth. It commonly can only show "wholesale" pricing on an item, or sometimes even "liquidation wholesale" prices.

Other times, one can have a bidding war break out, where bidders start competing against each other, more than making reasonable decisions about what they want to pay for an item. In these instances, an item will sell for more than what one might generally consider it to be worth.

Specific to the OP's question, unfortunately, I have no information on what the Para might be worth, but would suggest adding a little more information on it, particularly if it is not "NIB" condition. Even small amounts of wear on a firearm, from use or poor storage, can affect value, so details about condition are always important when trying to determine what a specific firearm is worth.

First off, more than not, when one is looking for a value, they are looking to sell something, and/or purchase something.

Secondly, it does determine, what the national market, in attendance, that is looking for something of that nature, will bear. 99 times out of 100, with a penny start, you will get a bidding war going.

Lastly, if you have no information to flap your lips about question that was asked, other than to criticize, what someone else says, then why do you?

I suggest you get professional help with your issue. Your BS is getting a bit old.

    babun,

It was sent long before the moderators post, and it was not to circumvent it. It was done to be a gentleman, and not to bring something like snarc remarks to the forum.

One eventually does tire of the folks that play in the other forums, that come to visit this one, just to pull certain comments apart, for lack of their own knowledge to with which reply a valid response.

I agree with Todd & Tsr. A rule of thumb that I use for "special editions" is to find sales for a similar "plain" gun in the same condition, & subtract 10%.

You may not have found your gun in the COMPLETED listings because you did not spell Cerakote correctly.

Recently came into a Para 1911 9mm, 5 inch barrel. But it a Ducks Unlimited model, green ceracote. I cannot find any listings on the approximate value. Any help would be most welcome.

One is listed for $650 in Ohio.
one sold on GB for $778 new in the box.

Ah yes, I've committed the blasphemy of criticizing the Holy Penny-start auction.

I'm surprised you didn't just tell the original poster to "consign it to Locust Fork" since she's the Virgin Mother of the Holy Penny-start auction.

You demonstrate the reason I spend so little time on the GunBroker forums these days.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I urge you once again to temper your comments and be a tad more considerate of your fellow members. Yes, disagree, but do so with a little more congeniality. I hate locking topics when there is a discussion taking place.

    Best.

Single stack, like new $600. $650 at the store. Probably ADD for the D/U but only $50.
Double stack add $150 to those numbers.
I see these daily and that is what they are going for up here in N. Idaho.
