"Secretaria de la Defensa Nacional, Mexico, Distrito Federal"

A number of different guns. Both rifles and handguns have been sold in the U.S.. With this marking. Apparently since they are in new condition. They are overruns. Or surplus, to the actual requirements of the Mexicans?

As long as you pay the going, fair market price. For a 99% Model 10. Don't see you getting hurt.

Interesting. SLIGHT premium over an otherwise common revolver.

Found one i may buy..here is description, would these markings hurt value.thanks

Smith & Wesson Model 10-14, 38 Special +P Revolver With 4" Heavy Barrel, Double Action, Fixed Sights, Rubber Grips, Right Side Of Frame Marked "S.D.N. Mexico D.F.", Probable Contract Overrun, 99% With Box & Papers

For a LNIB box gun, 20 years down the road factory markings like that might INCREASE value, by a teensy amount due to novelty/curiosity value, but not enough that its really worth talking about. IE, I don't really think these are going to add OR subtract much here.

I agree with above. So long as these are factory markings and you don't pay MORE for this than a similar gun without said markings, I doubt you'll get hurt too badly on the other side.

It might add some value, however a model 10 is a working gun IMHO.
