Tungsten #7 Shot in a SxS?
Anybody using tungsten in their sxs guns for turkeys? Particularly #7 shot. I understand the danger of using larger steel shot (BB, #2 etc.) in doubles and the barrel bulge issues caused by the extremely hard shot trying to get through a tight choke, but would that theory apply to really small shot like Federal Heavyweight #7?

I haven't used any of the Heavyweight in any size. Depending on your gun and it's value, is it worth the risk of a stretched choke?
Have you considered using Kent Tungsten Matrix?

While I have never felt the need to use a Tungsten Matrix load for Turkey, I would only think that the smaller shot size would compound the problem. Seems to me that they would be able to nestle closer together, and create less of a movement, when passing thru the choke.
I see no real reason for the ultra super loads, and 3 1/2" anything for turkey. I use a little ole 870 Express Turkey gun in 3", with a 21" barrel, the factory X-full turkey choke, and Winchester Supreme #6 High Velocity. Tumbles birds out to 65 yards.
Just my opinion.0
