Colt Cobra vs Agent vs Detective
Is there any real difference in the three? Thanks for the input.

added If you are climbing Everest the weight difference might be important but for everyday carry it's not enough for me to give up steel.0 -
I believe the Colt Agent has an alloy frame. 0 -
So does the Cobra. 0 -
The Cobra & the DS have a full length grip; the Cobra frame is aluminum, the DS has a steel frame. They have the same profile.
The Agent has a shortened grip that probably doesn't allow your pinky to fit; the frame is aluminum.

EDIT: For many years, Colt advertised that their snubbies held 6 rds, versus the 5 rds of their "competition". Colt tried to overcome the width issue with a rubber skeleton holster (which didn't really work).

If I'm going to be using the gun I want the Detective Special.
If I'm buying a NIB specimen as an investment I want the Cobra, in nickel, chambered for .220 -
is the weight enough difference to matter as a carry gun? 0 -

Depending on how you carry it. Belt holster wouldn't make any difference.
If you use a pocket holster, or unholstered yes. Because they are six shot. The diameter of the cylinder is quite noticeable. Specially with the weight of the steel Detective Special. Because of this, pocket holsters are made for them. That have a outside leather flap, so they won't "print".0 -
