Sling Studs for Ruger 10/22
I gave my nephew a plastic stocked 10/22 for Christmas. He wants to put a sling on it and those stocks come without studs. Can conventional (for wood stocks) be attached to that stock?

Ruger is really cheaping out on these, aren't they?
Anyway, assuming the stock isn't hollow (see above), I don't see why normal swing studs wouldn't work. I'm pretty sure that at one point Ruger **USED TO** put sling studs on their polymer stocked guns.
I'd just go for it; I doubt you'll have any issues here.
If you don't want to try, you can buy a sling "adapter" (which is just a little belt that slips over the stock with a ring on it) for a few bucks.
Lastly you can probably buy a like new Ruger *WOOD* takeoff stock for just a few bucks on the auction site.0
