Should a Model 70 made in 1949 .22 Hornet have a serial number on the bolt? "Thanks"

  M70 bolts have the serial # etched by hand rather crudely (not stamped like the receiver #).

  Yes, absolutely. Any complete Model 70, will have the bolt serialized to the receiver.
  
  That 22 Hornet Model 70, is a special one. Almost as special as the 7mm Mauser.

  There where only 19,934 pre 64 model 70s built in 22 Hornet caliber.
  The serial number should be hand etched on the bolt.
