That's what I would think too but they say the opposite doesn't make sense. Lol I'm starting to feel real dumb here!

Does your gun have ejectors or extractors?
If it throws the empties out of the gun, it's ejectors, just lifts the shells about a 1/2" out of the chambers, it's extractors.

That I believe is the difference in the required "pre-set" of them before the barrels mount on the Fausti's.

Well I havent been able to use the gun yet because I cant get the barrels on but theyre supposed to be ejectors from what ive read. Ive tried to mount the barrels with ejectors in and out and i cant get anything to line up enough to get a connection.

I believe on the extractor models, the extractors will slide in and out by hand, not sure on the ejector models.
Remove the forearm, and slide "both" extractors out. Hold the barrels pointing up so they stay out. I say that because both extractors have to be all the way out, or it hangs up. It's worse on a new gun because everything is so tight.
Push the top lever all the way to the right, and hang the receiver pivot pin on the barrel pivot hook.
Keep the top lever pushed open during the entire process until you close it.

grice, it took me awhile to figure it out too, mainly cause it's really no different than any other SxS, but it has to be done "just like that". I admit, I felt pretty dumb once I figured out how easy it was.[:I]
It wouldn't be accurate to say Stefano Fausti shotguns are underrated, more like over looked. Seems like everyone else puts their brand on them, Traditions, Weatherby, and now Marlin, when the name and quality can easily stand alone. The two I own equal anything Browning makes, and their high end guns are real works of art.

Well thanks again, I have two older 311s and never had that oriblem.i also Just bought an older marlin lc smith made in the late 60s early 70s, don't have my hands on that one yet till later this week. The wood looks straight from the pics but will need some metal work on recievers and barrels . Looks like the previous owner allowed it to rust!
