Colt Police Postive 3"
I can't find a reference of a 3" barrel in the Colt Police Postive, 38 SW, revolver was made in late '20's. Anyone got any info, serial # 166177. Thanks

Revolver barrels are measured from the front surface of the cylinder. Use something like a pencil. Stick it down the barrel of the unloaded revolver. Mark it at the point it protrudes from the barrel. Than measure it again. 0 -
but did Smith have a 3" barrel ? Most are 2-4 or 6". 0 -
I'm not aware of it. A photo of the barrel markings (including the entire barrel) would help us identify what you have.

I don't understand your question. Are you wanting information on a Colt revolver, or a Smith & Wesson revolver? have two 3" Smith & Wesson revolvers. One is a model 36, which I ordered new, and the other is a model 13. 0 -
under very close observation with a microscope the barrel has been shortened to 3", they did a great job and is well worth what I have in this fine little revolver. Thanks for all the help. 0
