Are there any markings on there you can ascertain? Faded ink, stamping or other?

No markings that I could find anywhere. (Inked or stamped)

You could use help with pic's. A little larger ones would be nice. Is it open at the muzzle end? What is just past 12" out of frame, so is it a drop leg unit or a shoulder rig? Does the spare magazine pouch look long enough for a single stack .380, 9mm or maybe 30 Mauser?

Looks military/secret police to me east german/rusky/bulegria for a Makarov, PPK something knockoff.

Added. The spine carry extra magazine pouch is unusual. That what I was looking for on images of military holsters.

Take it to the gunshows. Most folks would let you try their for sale pistol in the holster on the condition if it fit you would buy the gun.

    Polish Tokarev TT-33
EDIT: I jumped the gun (pun intended) [:)]
Saw the elaborate shoulder harness hookup, that's typical Pole.
The key to ID without markings, is the front mag pouch. That was a German, Swiss, Austrian favorite.
Most of the com block countries liked em on the side...except Bulgaria. Their Makarov holsters favor the side, but many of their WWII era holsters are on the front. Try some google image searches there.

Military/Police holsters, are usually marked in some fashion. Are there any markings on the holster?

    EDIT #1,

The lack of markings, has me wondering? As it appears to be a very well made military/police type holster. That should have them?

A number of years ago, when I still was getting the Shotgun News. A US midwestern company, advertised many types of repo knives and holsters. That had been made in India. Perhaps this is one of their products?

Here's a view of the magazine part. Looks like .32 or 380 single stacked. Almost all of the holsters I've seen have the magazine on the front rather than on the side. Charlie, Closed end. Trap, looks too short for the TT 33. And still, no markings found.DSCN0024_zpskirgjjuz.jpg?1428409728544
I'm not sure of why the first photo's are small and this one is huge. I'm a "techno-tard" as my kids call me. A friend of mine gave me the holster and now I need to find out what it fits so I can buy the pistol for it[|)]Thanks for the replies.
