Winchester Model 1890 DOM question

Chambered in 22 short, adjustable rear sight, octagon barrel, take down receiver, serial number 1385xx on lower tang only. Pretty sure it's a variant 2 but would like to get an accurate dom for a friend. Thanks in advance.

Fixed the ssn thing. Thanks for the date and especially the original finish. This rifle has great looking wood, but the metal was re-blued [:(]. Still a neat little plinker!

  Based on the serial number (SN, not ssn which is social security number) your rifle is indeed a second model variation and was manufactured during 1902. You may be interested in the more detailed information available from the Cody Firearms Museum.

  June 2nd 1902 is the receiver DOM.

  And, it was originally a blued receiver, versus the earlier color case hardened receivers.

  Since its reblued, its pretty easy to convert it to 22 Long Rifle.
