Argentine Mausers
Are the bayonets interchangeable between the 1891 and the 1909 models?
Just a curiosity thing.

Yep. The 1909 was deliberately made with an obsolete bayonet lug so that Argentina could use their existing stock of old bayonets! 0 -
I agree to an extent with that statement, but would clarify to note the lug on an 09 was specifically designed to accept an outdated 91 type bayonete to allow use of extant stocks of bayo's the Argentines already had issued and stockpiled. Splitting hairs a bit, but the lug wasn't obsolete, but rather designed to accept an " obsolete" bayonet. 0 -
Thanks for the information! 0 -
Almost all of the Argentine bayo's Ive come across were manufactured by Weyersburg & Kirschbaum, for what it's worth. 0 -

The 1909 was made with a standard Mauser bayonet lug. To use the older style 1891 bayonet on the 1909, a Ricchieri adapter was pinned in place on the 1909 bayonet lug.
