I don't own either gun, but reportedly there is mag commonality between the FNAR and BAR platforms (by design).

There is a review on the Midway website by an individual with a "Hog Stalker" rifle who claims the FNAR magazines fit and function fine.

Looked long and hard for extra magazines for my 308 Browning Hog Stalker. Not in the Browning catalog. Read an article that these FN mags may work and they do, nicely.

Since CO big game law limits 5 round capacity mags, nice to have a few extras in case we contact the herd! Highly recommend this product.

So I'd say you're probably OK with an FNAR mag in your HS rifle.

    Beantown:
Does the FN magazine only fit the hog stalker model or does it fit other Browning BAR models in 308 Win based cartridges like the 243 or 7-08?

In short, no I don't think you're going to get 10 or 20 round detachable "battle" type .308 FNAR/BAR magazines to work in a conventional hinged floor-plate magazine hunting type BAR rifle. . .at least not without some serious modification to the rifle.

If it were "that easy" everyone would be doing it already! (And the BAR hunting/sporting platform would probably be banned!).
