OK question of the day: just bought a m96, receiver stamped 1900 ALL matching parts/Mauser oberdorff SERIAL NO 3219 all my others 1899 and 1900 have high four and five digit serial no. How can this be?

  Early 96's were made in two different locations. Sweden and Germany. Perhaps you have a early Oberdorff made one. That failed inspection by the Swede's. Than sent back to Germany. Who built them a new one, with the same SN?
