"they look to be original barrels with proof marks and all"..........if they are original barrels they should have 5 grove barrels, not easy to slug and measure. you could reload and use .312" bullets, not closing in a go gage is ok IF they will chamber and closed on factory ammo.

Theoretically, you could tell the difference between P14 and 1917 barrels with a plug or hole gauge. The P14 has a nominal bore diameter of .303", the 1917 should be .300". Of course wartime production tolerances can mess with that. 0 -
Thanks for coming back with more info. I've ordered some cerrosafe and am going to use this opportunity to learn more about casting/measuring chambers and bores. A friend with a specialty machine shop has offered to help with correct measuring of the casting results. again Thank you 0
