Savage 99c. DOM

My fianc? has a savage 99c in 243 that was her grandmothers. I've found two dates of 1904 and 1951 for its manufacture. The serial number is A052537.
Anyone know fore sure?

  The 243 didn't come into use until 1954. There should be a marking on the bottom of the rifle, where the lever is hinged. This part of the rifles receiver, is known as the "boss". Provide us with this marking.
