I really would appreciate it if someone could tell me the mfg. date of a Marlin 336RC 30-30 sn # 4489.

  My 336 has a two letter code prefix that tells the date of manufacture.

  Thanks babun and He Dog, after further investigation I discovered a Letter code indicating the mfg.to be 1950. I appreciate your help.

  that serial number may be fairly close to sequential on the Model 336, since the Model 36 was updated to the Model 336 only two years earlier in 1948.
