Ajust trigger on Anschutz mdl. 1416
Just bought this rifle used and it will fire if jarred, like dropping the rifle butt first onto a rubber pad on concrete from about a foot. I can only find one adjustment that adjusts the weight of the trigger pull. I have tightened it way down and the pull weight doesn't change and it will still bump fire. This is a single stage trigger. Anschutz says to send it in. I am thinking it may be better to buy a new trigger group. I am told the trigger has not been worked on previously. The pull weight is very light, like a pound or less, and is very nice. I only use the rifle for benchrest shooting, so the rifle is never loaded except when ready to fire on the rest. I am just not comfortable with this situation. Any ideas or replacement triggers out there?

The trigger in my rifle is not the same as this one. There is only one adjustment screw on the bottom of the group. 0 -
If you drop a fine quality rifle like the 1416 from a FOOT in the air with the safety off it will fire. It is not supposed to be dropped with the safety off. The trigger pull weight is too light for that kind of treatment and was never designed for abuse like that.
My recommendation is to clean the trigger group and bolt with brake cleaner to remove any gunk left from WD-40, dry and re-oil per Anschutz recommendations put the gun back together and refrain from dropping it any more.0
