Model 70 Classic Sporter?

Is the barrel contour the same for 7mm Rem Mag and 270/30-06?
I guess the real question is will a Classic Sporter stock from an '06 fit a 7 mag? Thanks.

  look at boyds gun stocks websight it saved me many times search for replacement stock search on one gun and seethe part numberfor their replacement then search on the other see if it is their same part number

  the barrel contours are usually designated for each model with no variation for the chambering, so my guess is that a same length barrel for a standard weight Classic would have the same outside dimensions for both a 270/30-06 and the 7mag; but I'm not positive, so I didn't previously post. On the Classic Model 70s that I've seen the outside dimensions were either standard or featherweight- no difference on chambering.

  Sir, the Model 70 Classic Sporter stock from a 30-06 or other standard length caliber will fit the 7mm Mag. You might have to remove the wad of what was supposed to be glass bedding from the front reciever ring recess. For that reason you might want to rebed that area.
