264 mini mag.
Obtained several reamers. One marked 264 mini mag. I am not familiar with this caliber, and would like to know what the parent case is? Thanks.

Remington made a sawed off/belted 6.5 mag. For their bolt action carbines about 40 years ago. It was unpopular and died a early death. 264 and 6.5 are same same. 0 -
Remington introduced the 6.5mm Rem Mag, which is based on the same case as the 350 Rem Mag. While it has the same case head dimensions as the 264 Win Mag, it is a completely different cartridge. I suspect that a cartridge designated as the 264 Mini Mag is a wildcat different from either the Rem or Win versions. 0 -
How does it look compared to these sizes ??

Geri,
First and foremost it is NOT a caliber but a CARTRIDGE. The caliber or diameter is already stated as .264 in your title.
I have checked a couple of my reference books and come up empty with the name as you write it.
Rather than keeping us hanging, why don't you use a caliper and give us some appropriate measurements so we know a little more about the cartridge shape at least.

Reamer made by clymer. Marked 264 mini mag. I looked for references but could not find any. By the sizes checked it appears to be a 240 weaherby mag. necked up to 6.5 MM. Thanks for all the input. With the 6.5-06 I don't know why anyone would build a rifle on this parent case. Thanks again. 0 -
Because they can. The 256 Newton is hard to beat. 0 -
Why not write Clymer and ask them if they have a record of what it is? 0
