I would think so. Might be way to hot for some cheap little blank pistols made from plastic or pot metal.

added Nice Cannon. I help build a 1/3 scale Napol?on once.

    Yeap

I still have my license {yes you do need one in many states} for those guns.

Funny thing is, To have a 1911 .45acp pistol you only have to be 21 years old here, to own and use a hilti gun, you must be trained and tested.[:0]

I use those as an ignition source for my 1/2 scale Civil War cannon - better than a fuze. [:D]

How do you set them off?

Neighbor has a box of crimped 22 shells designed to be used in 22 low velocity powder actuated tools. There are 4 different color coded power levels of blanks. Will these work the same as 22 blanks?
All the ones I've tried will not fit a .22 cylinder, the brass is a tad wider in diameter......just my observation & experience [;)]

Sure you weren't using a Hilti 25cal RF driver cartridge?

For the OP, personally I wouldn't use them in a firearm, but than again I don't have any 22's that I don't like.

Made the "chamber" from a stainless steel bolt, which screws into the barrel.

    Yes, but. . .

Every manufacturer of these "power loads" warns not to use them in actual firearms.

Especially with the higher power level loads, actual working pressures with nails can be quite a bit higher than "ordinary" .22LR rounds, potentially high enough to blow up a gun.

That said, with no projectile or anything else blocking the bore, actual working pressures should be low, and people do "get away" with using these as .22 blanks. . .assuming they're using one of the types of these that actually fits .22LR guns (most won't).

Well Fellas, since this is # 10 thanks for all of the info. I never really considered shooting them as blanks since I can't find a reason too. However, I do appreciate the info and will find some way to properly dispose of them. If anyone has a need for them let me know.
