It appears to be a training shotgun used by the military but I've never seen one quite like that.

The Daisy Museum should be able to help you: http://www.daisymuseum.com/html/antiquegunform.htm

It is a bayonet trainer. I cannot find a similar one. Look up Daisy model 40 to see a lever action version.

That bayonet alone will sell for several hundred dollars.

Edit: still no luck. That forward grip resembles the model 25 slide action. Is there any indication of missing parts or of a cut off barrel?

I guess I should have included a length, the gun is 24 inches, 31 w/"bayonet". I'm about 99% sure it's a toy. The only moving part is the slide. I'm not sure the bayonet even goes with it. The whole thing is pretty flimsy. Can't imagine it lasting more than 2 minutes in training. The Daisy museum looks pretty air gun oriented but I'll give em a try. Thanks for the leads.

WOW!! the bayonet alone went for $125.

That's not your gun, but it must be worth quite a bit.

Very cool. It looks like they all want to buy it, so it must be something special.

I'm not a toy or Daisy guy but when I got it I thought it looked like something out of the ordinary. Maybe I can retire!!! [:D]

I apologize if this isn't the right place to post this but I can't seem to find anything online about a Daisy Toy gun I just got. All my searches turn up BB guns. Hopefully someone knows a Daisy expert or website that can help.
For anyone that might be able to help, It looks like a trench gun and here's a link to a pic. I hope the link works.
