Very interesting and I have no idea if it is a 30BR with a changed shoulder or what it could be.... 0 -
Googling a bit indicates that the .30 Eargle is a 6.5 Grendel necked up and maybe tweaked somehow. 0 -
It's only one lathe setup away from being any 30 you want... 0 -
Same as the .30 Major with necks turned.
""30 Major is Based on 6.5 Grendel
What's a "30 Major" you ask? This is Mike's own wildcat, a 6.5 Grendel necked up to .30 caliber. Mike writes: "The 30 Major is essentially a .070#8243;-long 30 PPC. With the great 6.5 Grendel brass available from Lapua, all you need to do is neck-up and turn the necks to prep the brass." Mike says it is very much like a 30 BR, but you just start with 6.5 Grendel brass instead of 6mmBR brass.
The cartridge has one major benefit - it utilizes a PPC-diameter bolt face. That makes it easy to convert your group-shooting 6 PPC to shoot score with .30-cal bullets. Mike explains: "If you have a PPC, to shoot score, all you have to do is chamber up a [.30 caliber] barrel and screw it on your PPC.""
Added:
really doubt the stock is Bakelite, and tell LF she should list the weight in the add, very important in some classes/buyers.0 -
Be sure it includes the dies so that you have the tools to prep cases. Once fired in the chamber a match-grade neck sizing die is all you will need. The big question, that only you can answer, "does it fill a need in my armory?" 0 -
In case you want to know the BASE price for JUST the "L" action and bolt is $1400.[:0]
Lets say another $800 for barrel, $400 for fiberglass stock, $300 for trigger, $600 for misc. fitting and finishing.
Someone put $4000 into that gun.0
