pwillie,
From the Hornady website:
http://www.hornady.com/images/sell_sheets/09-gmx_ammo_bullets.pdf
"The new Hornady Gilding Metal eXpandingT (GMX)
bullets and factory ammunition offer the hunter who
favors an expanding monolithic bullet that kind of choice.
GMX bullets are constructed of the same gilding metal that
have made our hunting bullets famous.
The other added benefit of using gilding metal is that it reduces pressure and fouling;
two words often used in the same sentence with "other" expanding monolithic bullets."
