Rem 700 dom help please.........
Just bought a 700BDL in 264WM. On the left side of the barrel, reading left to right, it has a stamp with part of a circle on top of a triangle, then what looks to be E090. The Remington dates always give me problems. There are no other dates on the left side of the barrel. Thanks guys.

The .264 Win. has never been a popular cartridge. Doubt that Rem, has made many over recent years. Other then in the limited edition, "Classic" rifles. You don't note the configuration of your BDL? My WAG, is likely it would date to the 60's or 70's.0 -
Yes the letters are not adding up. If you could post first 4 of serial # and letter prefix if there is one. Will get you set up with a date 0 -
Full serial number is A6509632. Gun has the thick black Remington pad with black and white spacer. Also has cut wrap around checkering on the forend. 0 -

You the Man EJW, thanks!! Why, in your opinion are the Remington dates so hard to decipher?? Not only does my gun's number really make no sense, it's hard to read since the stamping sucks.... 0 -
Early stamping was an issue. The mark closest to action is assemblers # . Next 2 are date codes. BLACKPOWDERX is you months. B is January L is February etc. The furthest stamp is inspectors #. 0 -
Knowing what years calibers were produced helps. 264 in bdl 1962-1977. Also serial # no letter prefix, 62-75, A prefix 8/75-1/80
B prefix - 11/870
