Springfeld shot gun mfg. by Stevens
My neighbor gave me this awhile back. It's a 12 ga. dbl. brl. mfg. in Chicopee Falls, Ma. Ser# E 47310. Appears recoil pad not orig. and fore arm and stock has had some "dimpling" carved into them! Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Utility grade shotgun. Post some pic's or look threw the list of shotguns and try and find a match.

Springfield was a name used by Savage. On utility grade rifles and shotguns. Generally they were the same, as better known Savage made guns. Expect for cheap wooden furniture. And metal parts with a bare minimum of polishing/hand fitting.
Same, same, as "Store Brand" or "Hardware Guns". Made to sell at the lowest possible price point. But still generating a profit, for the retailer.0 -
