colt mustang plus2
I have a colt mustang and it won't eject reliably, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First try some other type/brand of ammo. Clean and lube the firearm checking for worn, broken, missing parts and burrs.
Look at the extractor closely part #6 for wear. They can be fixed but most folks would just buy a new one.

Mustangs have, what I consider, a very awkward ejector.. During a re-assembly, as you push it down to install the slide, it can be pushed down too far.. This causes it to slip off the sear spring, and that prevents it from being returned to the correct position.. If someone not familiar with the proper procedure to re-seat it on the spring used a tool to attempt to force it back, it could easily be bent..
It could be straightened, but I would install a new ejector.. I don't know how easy it is to spot a slight bend without comparing it to a new one.. Trial and error bending it yourself is possible, but again, I'd have a new one handy..0 -
I would remove the slide and check that the ejector has constant pressure on it from the sear spring, if not it may not be up high enough when it tries to eject the spent case, meaning something is bent. I have had the ejector pushed down below the frame before, it is not hard to put it back in place. Remove the slide and grips, cock the hammer back, hold the gun up side down, take a flat screw driver and reach down the magazine well and push the sear back, and the ejector should fall back in place behind the sear spring. If some one did try and reset the ejector back with out relieving pressure on the sear spring it may have damaged the spring. 0
