Ruger Frontier Scout Value
Hi,
I need an opinion from some of the experts here. I would like to have an idea as to the value of the subject rifle. I searched this website on completed auctions and there were none listed. There aren't many listed elsewhere on the internet either.
I purchased the below which is a Ruger M77 MkII Frontier Scout in 2005. It has the Leupold FX-2 IER Scout 2.5x28mm scope mounted. The rifle has had fewer than 100 rounds fired. I used it briefly when I hunted in the Congaree Swamp for hogs when I lived in South Carolina. The rifle really did what it was supposed to do and was easily to carry and handle in the thick cane and briars. The rifle is in excellent condition with no scratches, dents, or rust. I still have the original box, manual, lock, and Ruger rings. The rifle is surprisingly accurate at 100 yards with the scout scope.

Does anyone have a ballpark or blue book value they could quote?

If none of our folks can help? Might consider trying one of the the Ruger specific forums.
I personally haven't been on them for awhile. But I seem to remember, one had a board devoted to collectible Rugers.0 -
Blue Book lists it as $595.00 in 100%. I suppose the scope would add $150.00 or so if included. I don't know that there's any scarcity or collector value that would boost it. However there's one on the auction side with bids (gun alone) hitting $700.00 already.
If selling is the point, I'd put $725.00 on it, $600.00 for the gun alone.
It's a bit of a niche gun in configuration and caliber. Casual shooters might not jump at it, and the "tactical gun" types would lean toward the GSR instead. For a good price someone who reloads, likes value would buy it, slap on a PTG detach bottom metal and have a heck of a shooting little rifle.0 -
