Single point sling to the stock right where that little circle thingy is. [;)]

What kind a sling you looking to put?

You could get one of those rail sling attachment to put on the gas block. If you remove the buffer tube plate with the ones with the Mickey Mouse eared ones you can snap a sling on to that. Also there is a slot in the butt stock for a sling for you to tread.

No. Conditionally no, anyway. Whatever mounts there must not interfere with scope use.

Here's the basic quick-connect style for the stock..

Midway has some different models.. All attach the same..

Me not a single sling but dude didn't specify. I just suggested ways to mount a sling. And the scope would clear the gas block mount.

There's more than one way to skin this "cat". We'll assume you want to do this as cheaply/easily as possible.

As mentioned above, easiest is just to mount a single point sling to the hole in the buttstock. Its not "traditional", but all the "cool kids" are using these now. [;)]

Obviously, whether or not you like this type of carry is subjective. Depends on your anatomy, and what else you're doing while you're carrying. But I'd say, if you haven't tried, it, try. I though I wasn't going to like this, but ended up liking it.

You could put an sling mount on the barrel (either down or side-facing) in front of the gas block.

Not sure if your forearm has a hole in it, but if so you could put a mount there ATI makes one). If not, and you're willing to drill a hole, that could work too.

Galati International makes a sling that wraps around the forend of the rifle for AR's without a sling attachment point, and they also sell the single point sling adapters that squeeze between the castle nut and the upper receiver as well.
