Well at 74 still got a little bit of MO-JOE
got a nice 5 point yesterday with my flint lock 83 yards as to my pocket size GPS he was looking directly me heart shot lower neck i have never seen penetration like this in my life straight down chest with no bones involved took hit in both heart & liver and exited belly
about 2 inches in front of his jewels 100 grains of Black 54 cal round ball[^]
EDIT Tell those night riders to bring it on I can gut shoot one of them with the flinter and then.
take care of the rest with my M 1 from DCM

years ago i shot a doe looking at me at about 60 yards with a TC .45 cal FL, round lead ball with 80grs FFF black. same type of hit, lower front chest hit. she ran like the dickens for a short spurt and fell over. when i inserted the knife to gut her my knife point hit the .45 ball resting just atop her utter. after getting it out it could have been loaded and fired again, having only a small grove on one side. mr myopic. 0 -

I had an arrow pass completely through a does broadside many moons ago...
Hit no bone - did not deflect - just passed through.
One in a million shot - statistically impossible.

I did that on a cow elk at 13 yards. 2 blade broadhead went in between two ribs, through both lungs, and out between two ribs and stuck in a tree about 10 yards beyond her. She only flinched when the arrow hit the tree. It took her a while to go down, didn't like that part...

Nice going Karl! You have some prime vittles right there! I say YES to the old folks...my mother is 83, and still likes to get out there hunting, and walleye fishing.0
