Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. is a German bayonet manufacturer. Dating to the 1880's.

My take is that your "pistol dagger" is somebodies winter project, made from a WKC bayonet. Percussion pistols were last made in the 1860's. As the bayonet could have been made no earlier than the 1880's. No way could it be original.

"Were these used as actual firearms?"

Yes. These combination guns date back to early days of firearm manufacturing, featuring knives, daggers, swords, etc.

One similar in function to yours shown was produced by George Elgin. The National Archives Records have correspondence dated 1837-38 between Elgin and the U.S. Navy for an order of 150 of his bladed pistols for a South Seas Exploring Expedition.

Others here may have info specific with your dagger pistol?

Definitely a novelty piece and never factory-made. It's an interesting conversation piece, though!
