I believe I read on a previous post that this rifle takes Remington 700 scope bases. Or did I imagine it?

cut and pasted Although my test rifle came with a Picatinny rail mounted to the receiver, the B-14 ships from the factory without scope bases. The arrangement of the mounting holes follows the Remington 700 pattern, meaning it's easy to find bases that will fit.

added I don't have the rifle. It was cut and pasted from a review but I think the rail was removable.

Thanks, Charlie. Is the rail on your rife removable? I'm not too crazy about those rails; the one on my Icon is part of the receiver. I think it detracts from the classic appearance of the rifles.
