Can you dial it in a bit? What are you carrying and trying to conceal? Where and how do you usually carry out of school? How do you dress, suits with skirts give different options than slacks and blouse or dress.

Most of us here are male, so this may take some time to get women's responses.

I usually carry in my purse, I have both a Springfield ultra compact 1911 and a Beretta 22.

I'm usually wearing slacks and a blouse or dresses...think fun business casual. I don't wear suits, a bit more casual than that, and comfortable since I'm up and being fun for the kids all day.

My first thought is ankle holster for maintaining concealment with "spontaneous hugs" from children. I use an ankle holster at times and originally was uncomfortable with quick deployment and physical comfort, but quickly (and with practice) became comfortable with it. This is a non-gender specific solution for wearing slacks.

My thought would be a pocket holster for the .22. An inside the waistband holster for the slacks could work if blouse is not tucked.

Be aware that most of us have at least a few holsters that looked like a good idea at the time, but just did not work out. Cheap is usually not the best way to go.

You might want to discuss this with Karla Van Horn at Purdygear, http://purdygear.com/ she has a better woman's perspective and there are probably no more than a hundred leather workers at her level these days.

You might also consider a "wallet" holster for the Beretta.

Or, if you wear a leather belt, these holsters look like cellphone cases: http://www.sneakypeteholsters.com/

You really need to plan logistics for the day; there have been many reported incidents of police & guards leaving their guns in restrooms. When I was an EMS provider, I occasionally ran medical calls with a CCW; when your job may require you to crawl around on the floor, or get wet, it's difficult staying "concealed". Requiring you to keep it hidden is not reasonable; I think that they are saying that, if there are complaints, the school will throw you under the bus.

I have worked with several schools in developing their emergency evacuation/lock down plans. An active assailant in a school is, statistically, extremely rare; you are in far greater danger on the drive to school each morning.

This here is one of my favorite holster manufacturers. They have a great following, and are extremely busy making high quality, functional solutions for your needs.

Little kids, are all about hugs and touchy feely. I can't envision any other holster, that would be reasonably accessible. Than a "wallet type" holster. For a small flat automatic, (consider a Kel Tec P380, rather than the Beretta), that Neal mentioned.

I have seen these type of wallet holsters in the past. Constructed so that it's able to fire the pistol. Without removing it from the holster. The holster actually only holds the pistol in position, and disguises the fact that a pistol is being carried. Although the feds consider these holsters verboten. My philosophy is, it would be better to be judged by 12, than to be carried by 6.

If you were to go this route? I would have a Velcro closure on the pocket. To prevent inadvertent loss, and access by little fingers.

I owned one of the small Beretta double action .22's years ago. Because it's thick grips, have to contain the recoil spring mechanism. Its much thicker, and would be harder to conceal than the P380.

Ankle holster or wallet holster. Wallet holsters ARE legal to own and use providing they don't completely conceal the gun and be able to fire at the same time. Some wallet holsters only conceal the gun and it must be removed before firing. Others hold the gun and you draw and fire while in the holster. You can choose..wallet holster that completely conceals but gun must be drawn to fire..or conceal and ability to fire provided gun is not 100% concealed in the wallet...100% concealed and ability to fire is considered Any Other Weapon(AOW and requires federal paperwork). There are also holsters that look like a cell phone case on your hip. There's also the Flashbang that attaches to your bra.

When my wife wants maximum concealability she uses her Flash Bang holster with a little Keltec P3AT .380 auto. It is a small soft holster that fastens to your bra, between the cups, and holds the gun horizontally against your ribs just under your bust line. To draw, she uses her left hand to lift the hem of her shirt high enough for her right hand to grip the gun and crossdraw it. The gun is entirely concealed by the loose cloth of the shirt just under the bust. Naturally, the size and shape of gun that can be concealed will depend on the size and shape of the woman's bust line. But, they do seem to be made to best fit the little .380 autos. Just Google "Flash Bang Holster" and you will get plenty of hits. Good luck and thank you for carrying at the schools, where you can provide protection for our children.

I don't think a 22 LR is enough. +1 for .380 or perhaps a nice 5 shooter like a S&W model 60 or variant. A stainless one in 357 would last several generation shooting 38 Special even +P.

Yes, thank you carrying. More guns in good hands is less crime.

Because the thickness, weight and size of any revolver. Don't see it being viable, for deep cover. Per the OP's original post.
