Be really careful, once the Bismuth compound has melted. It goes without saying, once it's liquefied it runs like water. Don't let it get away from you. Mask/protect every place you don't want it to go. I learned this the hard way. Don't even like to think about it. 0 -
I have read you can use Automotive Bondo or a hard wax to make a chamber cast. Wax may be difficult to measure accurately. Depends on what you are attempting to do. I have no experience doing it. 0 -

I used a finger from a latex glove, filled it with plaster & waited 3 hours.
Pulled right back out & was identical to the chamber dimensions given for the 7.62X54R I got from my Mosin book. Also showed a slight "seam" about an inch back from the barrel. Must have been used HARD by the Rooskies!0
