Just curious, what is the going price for the 9-11 'American Heros' pistol>still a virgin in the box.
    Thanks

Yes, there are opinions, but this is too general a question because of the several "generations" of the 21 over the years. I carried and qualified with a Gen 1 for 15 years and never had a problem.

You may also want to do a search in the forums on the 21. There will be thousands of comments there.

Yes of course. Being that the Glock 21 is not really a concealment type weapon, I might suggest that you step up to the long slide, and more sighting options of the Model 41. However if you are looking for concealment there is always the model 30, and the single stack 36.

My neighbor bought a used one. Looked ok for a Glock. Was fairly reliable with most factory ammo. Didn't like my reloads, failure to fire often. Failure to feed once in a while on par with factory ammo. My 1911 would cycle the Glock rejects flawlessly. I bought a wolf barrel for cast bullets for it. No change other than cheaper projectiles.

I tried different primers (looking for softer ones) and a new striker spring. Still had the FTF. The gun was stolen with the F350 truck. He got the truck back. He bought a Kimber as the replacement.

I have shot a few different Glocks. I have no desire to acquire one.

I bought a Gen 1 G21 in 1995. I lost track of how many rounds I put through it, but it is in excess of 14K. It has NEVER failed to feed or eject a round. Not a CCW, but it has been on my hip many times when I was fishing or hiking in remote areas. I always liked the idea of 14 rds of .45 ACP.

Owned a 21 for years and it has never failed with any kind of ammo just like every other Glock I own or have owned. 99% of failures we see with Glocks are from owners "reengineering" them with polishing parts or changing springs. I have owned and do own a bunch of different handguns including some of the best 1911's made. I trust my Glocks more than any other handgun that I can think of including my revolvers.

I have 2 Glock 21's, a gen I and a II. I carried the Gen I for about 10 years before I retired. It worked reliably except at the beginning. When we first adopted the Glock as duty guns we found the .45 cal versions did not reliably chamber the Hydra-Shock 230gr duty ammo. The flat side of the bullets were not compatible with the feed ramps resulting in a jam. A change of ammo solved the problem.

I like the 13 Glocks I have. I also own other autos and like them too.

I have had one for 15 years and agree with Ricci's comments above.

I own one and this is my experience also. My only complaint is when fully loaded its pretty heavy. You have to wear a stout belt to holster it. My friend has a Glock 30 and its a little lighter and smaller. I bought a Glock 36 and didn't care for it. The typical heavy Glock trigger pull made it difficult for me to shoot accurately. I never did shoot it enough to master it though. quote:Originally posted by Ricci Wright

any opinions on the glock 21 45 caliber

I've had a couple ... but in what context are you looking for opinions?

IMHO, they're great for open carry or under the seat but a bit big for concealed carry. They're reliable, durable and generally speaking, impervious to the elements.

My next on the list to purchase.

I already have a 30 and 36 for general use and CCW. I've been buying 21 magazines for the 30 toward that end.

You may also want to consider a G41. Better trigger, adjustable sights.
